The Traveler tripod is the most compact professional tripod in the market. It is the right solution for photographers looking for lightweight and compactness in pure state in a professional tripod, when traveling (and flying) is a common practice.In order to achieve this “magic,” Gitzo developed a unique patented 180º folding mechanism that gets rid of any space inefficiency in the support system. The head is now accommodated inside the folded tripod legs and this makes it the smallest folded tripod for its open size and number of sections.Matching this compactness with the sturdiness of lightweight carbon fiber and good speed in setup makes the Traveler the ultimate tripod. All Traveler tripods feature the Ground Level Set that allows for low shooting positions and further weight savings. This position is achieved by fixing the head and/or disc (included) directly to the tripod top casting, thus eliminating the center column. The included aluminum upper disc features a Safe Lock, which cuts vibrations and improves the grip between tripod and head. Traveler tripods come with a convenient anti dust bag for storage and packing. The textile anti dust bag is also an answer to environmental protection, aiming to reduce the amount of plastic bags that is introduced into the environment each day.

The Gitzo GT1541T Traveler uses a unique patented 180° folding mechanism that accommodates a head inside the folded tripod legs, which makes this the smallest folded tripod for its open size and number of sections. In addition, this tripod uses advanced "Carbon 6X" carbon fiber material for its leg construction. This improved tubing is stronger, lighter and as resistant as its 12 layer predecessor. Carbon "6X" is manufactured using a complex, 3-D process weaving 6 layers of carbon fiber into smooth, solid constructed tubes.
The GT1541T is ideal for use with a pro DSLR with a 135mm lens (up to a 200mm maximum), a MiniDV camcorders, or spotting scopes. This Series 1 model is the ideal solution for photographers on the move or when space and weight are key factors.
NOTE : The GT1541T is recommended with the G1177M Center Ball Head.

FEATURES
Ground Level Set
This new feature allows you to remove the centre column to save weight and get the camera closer to the ground. Uses existing components: the upper disc with reversible 1/4'' - 3/8'' bolt and the column hook assembly: Remove column and fix the disk directly to the upper casting using the column hook. No tools needed.
Rapid Column
The centre column locking collar above the tripod shoulder makes it easier to adjust the column quickly. Series 1 and above are built with an anti-rotation grooved centre column for improved stability.
Reversible Column
The rapid column can easily be inverted for an alternative shooting angle or low level macro work.
Anti-Rotation Leg (ALR) System
The Anti-Rotation Leg (ALR) system makes it quick and easy to open and close the tripod. Simply turn all of the locking rings at once and the whole leg can be pulled out in seconds.
6X Carbon Fiber Tube
Gitzo 6X is the most advanced carbon fiber tube in the market and guarantees structural strength, flexibility, rigidity and great vibration absorption properties. Despite the claims of other manufactures, the performance of this multilayer design is unique and inimitable thanks to the advanced aerospace production technology and the exclusive inner structure. It is the highest density tube 100% made of top quality ultra thin (7μm) carbon fibers (a 28mm tube contains 1.500.000 carbon fibers).
G-Lock Design
The G-Lock mechanism has been completely redesigned in order to achieve a 20% increase in rigidity, faster operation and stronger, safer locking. G-Lock's special design also provides a "gravity lock" effect: the higher the load applied vertically to the leg, the stronger the lock.
Hook
Redesigned built-in, spring-loaded retractable hook on the bottom of the center column provides a place to hang a stabilizing counterweight such as camera, sand or water bags.
Removable Leg Tips
Removable self-locking rubber leg tips are interchangeable with Gitzo universal accessories such as the big foot, long spike, etc...
